Here’s the problem most of us have: we were taught to solve our problems with our minds. Yet we continuously struggle with things like:
Anxiety, stress and grief
Emotional stuckness and overwhelm
Lack of ability to feel or be present in our body
We weren’t modeled how to create safety and presence in the body, and we weren’t taught to fully feel, honor and move our emotions.
Over time, all of this unfelt and unmoved emotion (e-motion = energy in motion) begins to degrade our peace and happiness. This pain, anxiety, and sadness begins to fester and become heavy, weighing us down, dulling our light. We can end up lost, confused, and stuck in cycles of suffering that create more suffering.
But there’s a secret.
Healing trauma, grief, anxiety, and stuckness doesn’t have to be a slog through discomfort.
Healing can be FUN.
Healing can be PLAYFUL.
Healing can be PLEASURABLE.
The secret for transforming emotional stuckness into more peace and joy and creativity:
is your body.
You body contains more wisdom than you know.

This is where Somatic Therapy comes in. Somatic therapy is an alternative and holistic method of working with emotions and trauma, but instead of words, you process with and through the body. The form of Somatic Therapy I have been studying and practicing since August of 2020 is called Kindrêd Meditation.
Kindrêd is an intuitive movement meditation that uses shared intention, imagination and emotional expression to transform protective/constrictive emotions into pleasurable/expansive emotions. Unlike most forms of meditation, it is done in partnership. It’s a dynamic, FUN and creative form of non-sexual tantric meditation that creates circuits of connection between alternating senders and receivers.
I am a Certified Facilitator of Kindrêd and have logged thousands of hours deep-diving into my own body and emotions, and holding space for others’ expression and movement.
When I first discovered Kindred in August 2020, I was in a very unhappy place in my life. It was lockdown times, so I was feeling isolated and unsure of the future. I was also living in a toxic relationship where much of the time I was feeling shitty and anxious. Kindred came into my life like a light - it was SO EASY and quick to go from anxious and shitty-feeling, to bliss. It made me realize the huge gap in how I felt versus how good it was possible to feel on a day to day basis.
Kindrêd also began to open me up in other ways - easing deep-seated wounds of not enoughness, fears of intimacy and being seen, fear of authentic expression… Kindrêd changed my life by helping me feel safe enough in my body to be more and more fully ME, to connect to myself and my emotions on deeper levels, and be able to connect to others on deeper levels too.
